표현 그대로 누군가를 버스 아래로 넣어버리는 상황 즉,

 

누군가를 곤경 속으로 밀어넣는 것을 연상하시면 외우시기 좋으실 것 같습니다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

캠브리지 사전의 뜻과 용례는 다음과 같습니다.

 

throw somebody under the bus

:

 

(informal) to do something harmful to someone else

 

in order to gain an advantage for yourself.

 

 

I'm not going to throw my friend under the bus

 

for something he did 25 years ago.
