NEW YORK SUBWAY TRAIN BECOMES AN UNDERGROUND LIBRARY 

The New York Public Library and the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) have joined forces to transform underground train into a ‘Subway Library’ making commute more interesting for all the passengers.

This project has created a platform that invites commuters to browse and download from an amazing and eclectic collection of books, novels, short stories, excerpts, resources that have have been donated to the New York Public Library.

For over a month, passengers can access all of Subway Library’s titles through Transit Wireless, a WiFi network available to travelers in trains and stations, allowing them to bury their noses in pages of digital books!

Additionally, to commemorate the Subway Library, officials have revamped the look of one train, incorporating the look and feel of a library in its interiors the seats of the subway resembles bookshelves with neatly piled books, the walls of the subway look like they are made of bricks while the ceiling replicates Rose Main Reading Room’s historic layout.

Thanks to this initiative, if you are a bookworm, you now will no longer have a boring ride.
